Discover Taiwan with Steven Yang

From 12 May to 25 May 2026

Small-scale group tours with an emphasis on exclusivity, refinement, and slow travel.

Travel beyond the surface, guided professionally by Steven.

Nature of Taiwan: Forest to Ocean

Steven will personally guide you through the best of Taiwan’s nature from mysterious forests to the wide, open Pacific Ocean.

Deep Cultural Roots

We also step into local life. For example, visiting Steven’s grandfather’s temple, where Steven gives you a behind-the-scenes tour normally not open to tourists. We will also be welcomed by Taiwanese Indigenous communities for an exclusive cultural experience.

The Perfect Balance of Guidance and Freedom

It’s not only about guidance.  You will also have time to wander, discover, and enjoy Taiwan on your own. Along the way, you might come across a local story, a hidden place, or a moment that stays with you.

3 Nights in Taipei

Our journey begins in the modern cultural city of Taipei. When you look closer, there is far more than you might expect. Let Steven, who grew up in Taipei, show you this amazing city.

A Tasty Welcome to Taipei

After arriving in Taipei and checking in at your centrally located hotel, your journey begins. We start with Taipei’s iconic night markets and with so many choices, don’t worry, we will take you to the best ones that only locals know. Enjoying great food is the perfect way to begin.

Modern Side

We take the high-speed elevator to the top of Taipei 101, where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the entire city. We also use the metro to explore different corners of Taipei, experiencing the city like a local. Of course, we’ll stop to enjoy local food along the way from famous soup dumplings to neighborhood restaurants.

Old Center

Taipei is not only modern; it also preserves its historic character. We walk through streets that were once the busiest in the city center, exploring well-preserved old buildings and talking with locals who share stories of their family tea businesses and traditional tea ceremonies.

Visiting Steven’s Grandfather’s Temple

One of the highlights of this tour is a behind-the-scenes visit to Steven’s grandfather’s temple. This large-scale temple is not touristic and has a fascinating story behind it. Steven will personally share the history and stories of the temple with you.
Afterwards, we visit a local sweets shop, where you will have the chance to make your own traditional rice cake.

Relaxing by Taipei’s Largest River

You will have free time to stroll along one of the most beautiful riversides in Taipei. If you prefer, you can also rent a bike and explore the area at your own pace. Along the way, Steven will share the 400-year history of this area, shaped by Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, and Chinese influences.

1 Night in Alisan

A mysterious mountain with a long history, carefully preserved over time. As you enter this sacred forest, the unique scent of hinoki trees welcomes you, creating a truly special atmosphere.

Forest Power

This is a large forest where you can explore in your own way. There’s no fixed plan. You choose what feels right.
You might take a small train to go deeper into the mountains, hike to a waterfall, or stay at the hotel and enjoy the quiet while clouds roll through the valley. Every option offers a different way to experience the mountain, and all of them are worth it.

Sunrise Walk

We wake up early, when it’s still dark outside, and walk uphill together. We’re heading toward one thing: the sunrise.
As the sun slowly appears and lights up the mountains, the moment feels special and calm. People say if you see this sunrise, you’ll have good luck for the rest of the year.
Let’s be there to see it happen.

2 Nights in Tainan

Tainan used to be Taiwan’s capital and is often called the Kyoto of Taiwan. It’s a city full of history, old temples, and stories around every corner.

With Steven as your guide, you will learn how Taiwan developed over time and how different cultures shaped the island.

We start the day by taking a boat through the Green Tunnel, one of Tainan’s most special natural areas. This quiet waterway, surrounded by unique plants, shows a softer and greener side of the city that’s easy to miss.

Besides, Steven will guide you to the hidden gems nearby from a local temple to traces left by Dutch troops revealing stories most visitors never hear.

Eat Like a Tainan Local

Tainan is famous for its food. In Taiwan, people often call it a food paradise, simple dishes, but full of flavor.
To eat like a local, we will start at a well-known beef soup shop, just the way Tainan people do.

A Walk Through History

In the city center, history is everywhere. You’ll see a Dutch fort, Japanese-era buildings, and traditional Chinese temples.
We will walk together and experience how different cultures have shaped Tainan over time.

2 Nights in Kaohsiung

The biggest city in the south part of Taiwan, Kaohsiung. A modern with well-organized city plan, but still full of culture to explore.

Kaohsiung Highlight

We will enjoy the highlights of Kaohsiung together from the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas to creative markets with a relaxed, artistic vibe.

Harbor Walks & Night Views

You will have time to stroll around, take a short boat ride, or enjoy the night view by the harbor. It’s a calm and pleasant way to experience Kaohsiung’s port-city lifestyle, with free time to explore at your own pace.

Understanding Buddhism in Taiwan

A day to learn about Buddhism in Taiwan.
Kaohsiung is home to the country’s largest Buddhist center. You don’t need to be Buddhist to visit. Everyone is welcome. It’s a great place to see how Buddhism shapes daily life in Taiwan.

2 Nights in Taitung

We travel to the east coast of Taiwan, where the Pacific Ocean stretches out in front of us. Here, we slow down and reconnect with nature.

Cycling Through Taitung’s Rice Fields

In May, the rice fields begin to ripen. Taitung is especially known for its wide, beautiful fields, surrounded by mountains. With Steven as your guide, we’ll cycle along quiet paths through the rice fields and enjoy the best of Taitung’s natural scenery.

Relaxing with Ocean Water Spa

In the evening, we check in to our hotel and slow down. You’ll have time to relax in the hot spring and spa. Eastern Taiwan’s unique landscape and ocean make it one of the few places in the world where deep ocean water can be used rich in minerals and great for your health. Enjoy the water spa and a peaceful night of rest.

A Local Way to Experience Nature

One of the best ways to experience Taiwan is to live like a local. Steven will take you to an Indigenous village, where a local guide leads us into the river.

We start with a short walk through the village, where stories from the Dutch and Japanese periods are still part of the landscape. Then we move into the river, walking upstream, feeling the cool water, and listening to nature around us. It’s a simple and honest way to connect with the land.

2 Nights in Hualien

Traveling along the east coast feels calm and relaxing. Hualien is a place where nature, local culture, and Indigenous heritage come together beautifully.

A Day with Indigenous Culture

Steven will take you into an Indigenous community to see daily life from the inside. We’ll begin with food, sharing a simple and authentic meal cooked by a local auntie.

You will also try a traditional craft by hand, making a knife with local guidance. Later, a community leader will guide us through a village that feels close to nature, showing how people here live in balance with the land.

Where Cliffs Meet the Ocean

In Hualien, the dramatic sea cliffs are something you can’t miss. They are some of the most impressive natural sights in Taiwan.
We’ll experience a SUP activity, paddling along the cliffs as the sun rises from the ocean horizon. Catching the first light over the Pacific Ocean is a moment that stays with you long after the trip ends.

1 Night in Taipei

A final journey to bring this trip to a close. We return to Taipei for one last stop before wrapping up the experience.

Free Time in Taipei

In the morning, we head back to Taipei. In the afternoon and evening, you’ll have free time to explore on your own, whether that’s enjoying nature, going on a food tour, shopping for souvenirs, or simply relaxing with a full-body massage.

Your time, your choice. Steven will be there to offer the best advice and help whenever you need it.

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to Taiwan. Steven will assist with your departure, making sure your journey home is smooth and relaxed.
